The moccasins we carry in store were made by the Lee family, Mary Lee and Ida Lee are Indigenous women who carry on the skills and understanding of making moccasins.
Mary Lee, of Chitek Lake SK, Treaty 6 Territory has made it her life’s work to pass down many of her Plains Cree teachings. Ida Lee of Yellow Quill First Nation, Treaty 4 Territory is a Saulteaux woman who is reconnecting with her culture through her sewing.
Moccasins are made from either deer, moose, elk or bison leather. They are the traditional footwear of many Indigenous tribes across Turtle Island.
